AAIA SCHOLARSHIPS
The Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) is an 89 year old Native non-profit working nationally in areas of service and advocacy. We have offices located in Rockville, Maryland and Agency Village, South Dakota, and are governed by an all-Native board of directors from across the United States.
AAIA has a long history of providing scholarships to Native students, awarding our first scholarship in 1948. AAIA currently has 8 scholarship programs for graduate and undergraduate students from Federally recognized and non-recognized tribes. Comcast Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program
The Comcast Leaders and Achievers ® Scholarship Program is a nomination-based award and only one student per school may be nominated by their principal or guidance counselor. The Comcast Leaders and Achievers®
Scholarship Program, funded through the Comcast Foundation, recognizes high school seniors from Comcast communities for their commitment to community service, academics, and demonstrated leadership. To acknowledge these accomplishments, recipients of the award will receive a one-time grant of $1,000.
Scholarship Requirements:
- Full-time high school senior currently enrolled at a high school within a Comcast Community.
- Student grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
- Student demonstrates leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences.
- Student shows a strong commitment to and involvement in community service.
- Student plans to attend an accredited, nonprofit college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States.
- Student will need to verify nomination by entering the Comcast School Code (CSC), provided by the principal or guidance counselor.
- Student will need to complete and approve the terms and conditions set forth in the media release included as part of the scholarship acceptance form. If the nominee is not over the age of eighteen, the parent/guardian must complete and approve the terms and conditions set forth in the media release included as part of the scholarship acceptance form.

Hispanic Heritage Foundation's Annual Youth Awards
- The Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards run annually and honor young Latino leaders with grants for their college education or to fund a community service effort. The online application will be available April through June and will be open to current high school juniors only who maintain an un-weighted 3.0 GPA. Award categories include, but are not limited to: Business, Community Service, Education, Engineering and Mathematics, Healthcare and Science. More categories are added each year and are subject to change without notice. For questions, Please consult the HHF's FAQ's. The Awards are divided into twelve different regions across the country: Los Angeles, Houston, New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Dallas, Miami, Northern California, Denver and Phoenix. Students may apply to as many categories as they wish within any one region (and only one) regardless of where they live. If selected attendance to the regional ceremony is absolutely mandatory. Three recipients are selected for each category (Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallion) in each of the regions and special recognition ceremonies are held with local business, education and community leaders to pay tribute to their accomplishments. All recipients are eligible to be selected as their category National recipient, receive a laptop computer, and a trip to be recognized at the National Youth Awards ceremony (Location TBA). http://hispanicheritage.org

QuestBridge - QuestBridge is a program that links bright, motivated low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at some of the nation's best colleges. In 2004, over 100 students were admitted to top universities with QuestBridge assistance. www.questbridge.org

Alliance for Women in Media - Founded in 1951, the Alliance for Women in Media’s mission (formerly American Women in Radio and Television) is to advance the impact of women in the electronic media and allied fields by educating, advocating and acting as a resource to our members and the industry. www.awrt.org
National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation - The NABEF is dedicated to the training and enhancement of the nation's broadcasting community. NABEF develops and supports educational programs and outreach initiatives designed to provide information on topical issues, increase diversity, highlight community service and promote philanthropy. www.nabef.org
National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications - NAMIC is a 501(c)(6) trade association founded in 1980. NAMIC educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the telecommunications industry through its 17 nationwide chapters. Members are cable operators, programmers, hardware suppliers, telecommunication and new media professionals and entrepreneurs. www.namic.com
Women in Cable and Telecommunications - Founded in 1979, WICT serves women professionals in the cable and telecommunications industry. WICT's mission is to advance the position and influence of women through proven leadership programs and services at both the national and local levels. www.wict.org
Walter Kaitz Foundation - The mission of the Walter Kaitz Foundation is to encourage, enhance and expand diversity in the cable and telecommunications industry.
